Each piece has been hand-crafted and personally designed by me. Each design is truly a one-of-a-kind even if I use some of the same materials in another piece. I select materials based on the colour, texture, shape and over all look of  the piece that I want to achieve. Before I hand-string my necklaces I painstaakingly lay out the beads on my work board and rearange them or simply start over again with different ones. My designs are never pre-determined. 
 
I have recently started to incorporate paper beads into my work. Each bead has been hand-rolled by me and coated to protect and harden it. As they are made from paper it is a good idea to remove the piece before bathing or swimming. You should also do this with any costume jewellery in order to prolong the life of the piece.
 
In the case of my stone brooches the design have been hand painted with acrylic paints and properly sealed. The stones are throughly cleaned and santized before I work with them. I find my stones at the beach and work with what nature has created, they are not altered in any form.

What_are_beads_made_out_of
No one will ever guess that these beads are made from paper, each one has been hand-rolled and treated to be water resistant. Please don't wear them in water though. The necklace has been strung with gold tone spacers for accent. Even though the necklace can be slipped on for ease it has gold tone claw clasp closure.
